Judge Judy has shared her opinion on Gen Zs in the workforce, believing that their parents treated them more as friends than children which she believes led to their behaviour in the workplace.
Gen Zs are generally considered to be born between the years of 1997 and 2012, according to the Pew Research Centre. The TV host, whose real name is Judith Sheindlin, was born in 1942, making her part of the Silent or Traditionalist generation at age 81.
”You grew up with that group of kids with parents who I think mistakenly wanted to be their friend more than a parent,” she told Fox News.

“And it may be that they were busy working households and both their ABCs and their morality were taught in school, which to me is a big mistake. You’re supposed to learn good things at home and ABCs in schools. Easy.”
When asked if the youngsters get a “bad rap”, she responded, “You only get a bad rap if you deserve it. If you have a bunch of kids entering the workforce who say, ‘I don’t like to work past 4 o’clock,’ ‘I don’t work on Saturday,’ ‘Sunday is football’.
“Well, if you want to be successful in what you do, you’re supposed to be first in the morning, and close up shop. Somebody will notice that.”

9honey’s very own Shelly Horton has also commented on Gen Z work habits, sharing that she will not likely hire a Gen Z worker.
“I am a small business owner, and I won’t employ Gen Z due to their sense of entitlement and poor work ethic,” she recently shared
She revealed her opinion after hearing a case about a Gen Z hair salon worker being terminated and venting her frustration to TikTok, eventually receiving compensation after the Fair Work Commission got involved.

“Now before you attack, I know not ALL young people are lazy. There are always exceptions to the rule. But when someone’s pay comes out of your own pocket it changes your perspective.”
