Keanu Reeves is set to make a big career change.
The Matrix actor will make his Broadway debut in 2025 in a revival of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot.
Reeves will play the role of Estragon, starring alongside his Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure co-star, Alex Winter as Vladimir.

While this will be Reeves’ first time on Broadway, Winter is a seasoned veteran, first appearing on the stage in 1979 in productions of both Peter Pan and The King & I.
Waiting for Godot is an absurdist play written by Samuel Beckett and first performed in 1953.
The revival will be directed by Jamie Lloyd and produced by his production company The Jamie Lloyd Company along with ATG Productions, Bad Robot Live and Gavin Kalin Productions.

Waiting for Godot follows the story of two acquaintances, Vladimir and Estragon, as they engage in a variety of discussions while waiting for the elusive Godot to arrive.
The play examines the meaning of life and human existence. The 2025 revival will be its fifth major production with stars such as Ian McKellen, Robin Williams, and Steve Martin starring in past revivals.
“It is a real honor to be collaborating with the brilliant Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter on Samuel Beckett’s sublime masterpiece—one of the greatest plays of all time,” Lloyd said in a statement to Playbill.

“We’re incredibly excited to be on stage together and work with the great Jamie Lloyd in one of our favorite plays,” added Reeves and Winter.
The news comes off the back of Reeves sharing that he broke his kneecap during the filming of his new movie Good Fortune.
He appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where he shared that he slipped after a cold plunge, adding that his “kneecap cracked like a potato chip.”
