The trailer for Lamar Odom’s tell-all new documentary is here… and Khloé Kardashian has a LOT to say.
On Tuesday, Netflix dropped the trailer for Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom. The nearly one-and-a-half minute preview shares insight into the former Los Angeles Lakers player’s battle with drug addiction, which culminated with his near-fatal overdose in 2015 in a Nevada brothel. The now-46-year-old recalls in the trailer:
“I had 12 strokes and six heart attacks. That’s not no average s**t.”
Despite being at the “center of the universe” as a Lakers star, as Khloé puts it, a friend of Lamar’s claims he was living a “rockstar lifestyle.”

Lamar adds:
“That first hit of cocaine was amazing. But you unlock a vault that you can’t really control.”
He continues:
“When you’re calling it addiction, there’s always going to be embarrassment. I was out all night partying. I didn’t want to stop.”
Khloé then chimes in to reflect on her ex-husband’s situation from her point of view:
“He would escape rehab and go on a drug bender and no one could find him. I just felt such a responsibility to cover this up and protect him.”
What a heavy load to carry on her shoulders…
Elsewhere in the doc, another friend of Lamar’s expresses he “did love” the Good American founder, but also “wanted to be on reality TV” … wait, was marrying Khloé part of a bid to get on TV for Lamar???
Lamar concludes the trailer with a shocking sentiment:
“The afterlife is not what people make it up to be.”

Khloé first filed for divorce from Lamar in 2013, but called it off after his 2015 overdose to aid in his recovery. Once he was back up on his feet, she re-filed in 2016, and the divorce was finalized by the end of that year.
Following his brush with death, Lamar has been open about his struggles with addiction. In 2021, he opened up on Good Morning America about using synthetic drugs to stay off of harder substances. He told ABC News‘ Steve Osunsami:
“I went to rehab and did some other things, but ketamine came into my life at the right time. I’m feeling amazing. I’m alive. I’m sober. I’m happy.”
In 2023, the former NBA star launched Odom Wellness Treatment Centers, a series of rehab facilities to help others battle their addictions. However, Lamar himself check back into rehab earlier this year after facing a DUI arrest in January. His manager Gina Rodriguez told Us Weekly at the time he checked into iRely Recovery facility in Los Angeles to “reset and focus on his health.” She added:
“After a recent incident, he took a step back to reflect and address triggers he’s been dealing with. He’s taking full responsibility and choosing to be proactive about his wellbeing. Lamar is grateful for the support and is committed to moving forward in a healthy, positive way.”
