Kim Kardashian has reflected on the terrifying robbery she experienced during Paris Fashion Week in 2016 and the effect the experience had on her mental health.
In a recent episode of her family’s reality show The Kardashians, Kim recalled the events of the robbery in a piece to camera.
“I mean imagine you’re like gun to your head, getting tied up, dragged across a hotel room,” she shared.
“The guy I remember him like telling me just like: ‘Stay calm and you’ll live.’ And I did that and like it served me well at that time and I think it saved my life,” she continued.

On reflection, however, Kim believes her reaction in that scenario has bled into every area of her life leading her to “choose calm” in most situations.
“But I think I’ve let it get too calm to where people could take advantage of my calmness or I’m just turning into a full robot with like no emotion.”
Earlier in the episode, Kim and her younger sister Khloe spoke about this after Kim opened up about a recent visit to her therapist.
“You think calm is your superpower. I think you are so desensitised from trauma that you literally are frozen in fight or flight,” Kim recalled her therapist telling her.
To which Khloe responded “I believe that”.

Kim continued to explain that her therapist believed that something happened in her life in which she remained calm and it worked for her. Leading Kim to “always choose calm”.
On hearing this, Khloe chimed in sharing that it may stem from her robbery as she was not calm before then.
“You weren’t calm before. You don’t remember that? Kim, you were a lunatic,” Khloe explained sharing that she would become erratic over small things like people touching her clothes.
“You were never calm as a teenager, in your 20s, you cried about everything. You were bratty, you threw tantrums,” she continued.
“Everything stopped after you got robbed because you stayed calm in that situation. And you even said: ‘My calmness is what kept me alive’.
“That’s when it started. It doesn’t take a f—ing detective to figure that one out.”
