Is Kit Connor on his way to the MCU? The Heartstopper star gives his thoughts on playing Hulkling after the viral rumor took over the net.
Kit Connor is best known for his role as Nick Nelson across from Joe Locke in Heartstopper. With Locke now seemingly confirmed to be playing Wiccan in Agatha All Along, all eyes have turned to Connor to join the MCU with him. This was followed by a rumor that the actor may very well play Wiccan’s boyfriend in the comics: Hulkling. However, it seems Connor himself isn’t exactly high on the concept of playing Locke’s partner once again.
“I don’t think I would be a good choice for Hulkling, to be honest,” Connor explained to Omelete. “I think people would get tired of seeing me and Joe together eventually, if we kept doing this over the next few years.”
It makes sense that Kit Connor would think fans would grow tired of him and Joe Locke playing romantic leads across from one another after doing it for three years on Heartstopper. However, given he didn’t directly shoot down the rumor, some fans are still holding out hope that he could be joining the MCU as Hulkling. Especially given how proud he is of his co-star making the leap.
Kit Connor Reacts To Joe Locke Joining The MCU
The MCU is known to keep a tight lid on any castings they might do, no matter what the rumor mill might say when it comes to characters like Hulkling. However, it seems that didn’t stop news about Joe Locke being cast in Agatha All Along from hitting the Heartstopper set. According to Kit Connor, he found out about the news while the two were filming season 2 of their hit show.
“Joe [Locke] is brilliant,” Connor continued. “And I think Agatha is the perfect excuse for people to see him without my ugly face. You know, seeing him do his job, without being distracted by me saying ‘Hi’. I think people will enjoy seeing Joe in all his glory, just like I want to do, without interfering.”
Even though Agatha All Along has turned out as one of the more controversial projects in the MCU, and Joe Locke as Wiccan one of its most controversial castings, it’s good to see that at least Kit Connor has his back. Though regardless of if the rumor of Connor playing Hulkling is true, here’s to hoping there’s a Heartstopper reunion on the silver screen sooner rather than later.
