The Big Bang Theory star Kunal Nayyar is opening up about his generous gift this holiday season.
The 44-year-old, who is famous for playing Raj Koothrappali in the series, which aired from 2007 to 2019, shared that he and his wife Neha Kapur try to give back to those in need as much as possible.
The actor spoke to The i Paper, sharing that having “wealth” doesn’t “weigh heavy” on him.

“Money has given me greater freedom and the greatest gift is the ability to give back, to change people’s lives,” he said, sharing that he and his wife use their wealth to fund college scholarships for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
“We also support animal charities because we love dogs.
“But what I really love to do is go on GoFundMe at night and just pay random families’ medical bills. That’s my masked vigilante thing!”
Nayyar’s role on the hit series earned him a significant amount of wealth, with the actor eventually estimated to be earning $USD 1 million (approx. $1.5 million) per episode.
He was ranked by Forbes as one of the highest-paid TV actors in both 2015 and 2018, with his earnings estimated to be $USD 20 million (approx. $30 million) and $23.5 million (approx. $35.4 million), respectively.

Most recent estimates put his net worth at $USD 45 million (approx. $67.9 million).
He has recently starred in a musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol called Christmas Karma, with his character, Mr Sood, based on Scrooge.
The Trolls star acknowledged he is in a privileged position and is able to give back meaningfully, and draws on Charles Dickens’ classic holiday tale to share that everyone is able to do so in some capacity.

“Right now, people are not happy because we are all expecting someone else to be kind. We are expecting a president or a politician, some leader, to come and bring us world peace,” he explained to the UK outlet.
“But there is no world peace if your neighbour comes to your door wanting some sugar for their tea, and you lock it against them and say ‘get away’,”.
Citing Dickens he shared: “No one is going to come and change the world for you. You have to do it for yourself.”
