James Gunn recently announced on Twitter that Superman: Legacy has started the pre-production phase. He shared an image of the script title page and he wrote:
“I’m honored to be a part of the legacy. And what better day than Superman Anniversary Day to dive fully into early pre-production on ‘Superman: Legacy’? Costumes, production design, and more now up and running.”
While that’s all fine and dandy, the one question on all the fan’s minds is… who is going to be taking on the role of Clark Kent/Superman!? Gunn has said several times already that he has not cast anyone in the role, but there’s no doubt that he has an actor or two in mind that he’ll eventually approach, if he hasn’t already. One thing we do know is that he’ll be casting a young version of the character.
You’ve got to like that Gunn is keeping fans updated on everything that is going on with the project, and when he does officially cast someone in the role, he’ll definitely let us know!
Superman: Legacy will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”
Superman: Legacy is scheduled to open in theaters on July 11, 2025 and I’m actually excited to see what he brings to the franchise.
