Blended families are hard to navigate at the best of times, but having famous parents can make the situation even more delicate.
Lily Allen has opened up about her daughters’ relationship with their ex-stepfather, David Harbour, after the couple’s recent split.
The singer alluded to infidelity on Harbour’s part according to her new album, West End Girl.
The Smile singer is mum to Ethel, 14, and Marnie, 12, whom she shares with her ex-husband Sam Cooper. They wed in 2011 and split in 2018.

The 40-year-old was asked by The Observer in a December 20 interview about her daughters’ bond with Harbour, 50, telling them, “I stay out of it.”
“They’ve both got phones,” she said. “They all text each other.”
Allen and her two daughters lived in Brooklyn with Harbour for the duration of her relationship with him, creating a close bond.

Shortly after he tied the knot with Allen in 2020, Harbour described what it was like suddenly being part of a family,
“I’m in a relationship with three women who all have very different opinions of me at various times,” he told People
“Making that kind of a commitment, which I haven’t for most of my life, was a huge thing for me. And it just makes you feel a little bit more like a man, to be honest. I just feel a little bit more like an adult.”

The couple first begun dating in 2019 before obtaining a marriage licence and being married by an Elvis impersonator in Las Vegas in 2020. They are believed to have split in early 2025.
Allen said that West End Girl, released in October, is inspired by the demise of their relationship, including claims of infidelity on Harbour’s part.
