Veteran information anchor Lisa LaFlamme says she was “blindsided” as Bell Media ended her contract at CTV Nationwide Information after 35 years, a “enterprise resolution” it says will transfer the chief information anchor function in “a special route.”
In a video posted on social media, LaFlamme says she stays “shocked and saddened by Bell Media’s resolution,” which cuts her ties to the community after 35 years.
Bell Media introduced her departure immediately, however LaFlamme says she was advised of the choice on June 29.
In a separate announcement, Bell Media says Omar Sachedina will change LaFlamme beginning on Sept. 5. Sachedina is the CTV Information nationwide affairs correspondent and joined the community in 2009.
The corporate described the transfer as a “enterprise resolution” heading “in a special route,” recognizing “altering viewer habits.”
LaFlamme assumed CTV’s high information anchor function in 2011 when Lloyd Robertson retired at 77. He had spent greater than 4 many years as a nationwide information anchor on the community.
