Before finding The One in husband Domenic “Dom” Natale, Lo Bosworth was living the single lifestyle in New York City — a life she couldn’t have predicted.
“I am somebody who met my partner later in life,” Bosworth, 38, said during a June episode of Northwestern Mutual’s “A Better Way to Money” podcast. “We met when we were both 37, and I have always been somebody that wanted to get married and wanted to have a family, and I spent a big chunk of my 30s single. Which was unexpected for me.”
The Laguna Beach alum, who got engaged in January after dating Natale for about “a year and a half,” noted that she wasn’t looking for love when Natale came into her life.
“I had gotten out of a relationship, and you know tried to find my footing and really decided to focus on work for a couple of years,” Bosworth said, confessing, “I think that I was embarrassed that I was single, to be honest with you.”
The former Hills star added, “I think that a lot of women who are in their later 30s kind of feel that way, and it’s not of our own making. It’s what society tells us, right? ‘Oh, you’re a spinster now! You are undesirable!’ No, that’s wrong.”
Bosworth explained that after doing “a lot of self-work and therapy and reflection on my relationship status,” she became “really comfortable being alone.”
It was in that timeframe that Natale was pushed in front of her — not literally, but through social media.
Bosworth recalled telling her Instagram followers that she was single during an “Ask Me Anything” Q&A, adding that the confidence to share her relationship status led to love.
After seeing the “single” update, Natale’s sisters slid into Bosworth’s DMs and the couple soon discovered they had mutual friends and were both living in the Big Apple. (Natale is a financial investor in the city.)
“His family set us up and it’s a really fantastic story,” Bosworth gushed, noting that in that moment she realized “everyone needs to be marketing themselves for what they want.”
Since meeting via her DMs, Bosworth and Natale’s love story has blossomed. The pair announced their engagement in January, and six months later they quietly got married in her hometown of Laguna Beach.
“We said yes with joy. And life, with its most tender timing, said yes right back. 🤍💍🍼,” Bosworth wrote via Instagram on Monday, July 29, confirming their marriage while simultaneously announcing that the couple is expecting their first baby.
The Love Wellness founder was beaming on her special day as she wore a simple white dress that showed off her growing baby bump.
“So thrilled to share our special day and new blessing 🍼 with all of you,” Bosworth replied in the comments section of her post, which featured beach-filled photos from the nuptials. “Thank you for all of the well wishes. Love, The Natales ❤️❤️❤️ .”
