Maddie wasn’t even born when Steve Winwood launched “Greater Love,” a late ’80s solo hit for the previous Spencer Davis Group. Not a biggie.
{The teenager} received Howie’ Mandel’s golden buzzer in the course of the auditions of America’s Acquired Expertise, and on Tuesday (Aug. 16), turned to a golden oldie for her semifinals efficiency.
Maddie, or Madison Taylor Baez to her family and friends, melted hearts in the course of the auditions part when, aged 11, she nailed “Wonderful Grace.”
After we heard her backstory, her dad’s battle with most cancers, and the way she educated her vocal abilities by singing to him in hospital, it was Niagara Falls everywhere in the nation.
On Tuesday (Aug. 16), Maddie stepped onto the large stage with all of the regalia, pomp and confidence of an artist who’d earned a spot within the last phases of the expertise quest.
With “Greater Love,” the teenager and her backing performers turned the pop track into one thing nearer to a Sunday service.
