After making her debut in the Hawkeye series, actress Alqua Cox is set to reprise her role as Maya Lopez a.k.a. Echo in her own eponymous miniseries. Debuting January 10th, Marvel Studios has released the first Echo trailer.
Echo marks a number of firsts for Disney and Marvel Studios. It’s not only the first series to debut simultaneously on Disney+ and Hulu, but also the first that will have every episode available to watch at once. In addition, it’s the first one to be rated TV-MA.
Given the various behind-the-scenes problems at Marvel Studios in the last few years that has resulted in the decision to pull back content, fans are suspiciously curious about the Echo miniseries.
Director Sydney Freeland mentioned in a Variety article that the show has changed Echo’s powers from the comics which allow her to copy anything. Freeland remained coy about what the new powers will entail.
