Joseph Quinn is best known now for his role of the heroic character Eddie Munson from Stranger Things, and soon he will be synonymous with Johnny Storm aka Human Torch in the MCU’s reboot of The Fantastic 4. But according to the actor, he was in the running to play another Marvel superhero a few years back that could have been his big break instead.
In an older interview with BuzzFeed that’s once again making the rounds (via CB), Quinn said he was once up for the role of Spider-Man. Even though the spot ended up going to fellow Brit Tom Holland, Quinn said he auditioned for the role.
We don’t know how far he got in the process, but it seems like everything panned out the right way. Holland is a fantastic Spider-Man, and Quinn was the best Eddie Munson we could have asked for.
As for his role in The Fantastic 4, Quinn says the picture is shaping up to be “mad.”
“It’s mad. I’m really excited! I still can’t believe it. We have a great gang” Quinn the actor said at a convention appearance earlier this month. “When I spoke to Matt, the director, he had a brilliant vision for this, and the gang that we have, it was an easy decision. I definitely wanted to be a part of it.”
The Fantastic 4 is set to be released on July 25, 2025.
