One of the biggest mysteries from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is finally solved — PebbleGate! And it is all because of former best friends Jessi Ngatikaura and Demi Engemann’s feud exploding online!
During Season 1 of the show, Demi and Whitney Leavitt were at odds over Fruity Pebbles, not because they got into a whole debate about whether the cereal is good. Demi opened up to the DWTS alum about an intimate moment with her husband Brett Engemann involving Fruity Pebbles off-camera. Not bringing it up on camera obviously meant Demi did not want everyone to know about the sex confession. However, Whitney decided to break girl code and bring it up anyway during a chat with Mayci Neely and Mikayla Matthews — a filmed one.

Whitney also gifted Demi a box full of the cereal as a prank on camera. The TikToker thought it would be funny, but her pal was not amused! In fact, it caused a lot of problems between them for a while! Despite Fruity Pebbles taking center stage that season, we never got an answer about what it meant. Whitney only hinted at it when she tried to reenact what Demi and Bret like to do by squatting over Mayci’s face while she was lying on her back on the floor. Other than that? The Mormon Wives’ lips were sealed about the matter… until now!
Fans know Jessi and Demi had a falling out over the Marciano Brunette situation. The hairstylist admitted to having a two-week emotional affair with the Vanderpump Villa star, while the latter accused him of sexual misconduct, which he vehemently denied. His boss, Lisa Vanderpump, defended him in an interview with Access Hollywood on Monday, saying:
“I categorically know what happened because we have cameras everywhere and I have seen every ounce of the footage. When the women are doubting her, they have got a very good reason. Any allegations against Marciano, I have the luxury of having all the footage.”
LVP’s comments prompted Demi to fire back. She wrote:
“Jessi is somewhere punching air right now that Lisa is talking about me and not her.”
Jeez…
Amid all this, Jessi has been going after Demi on Instagram Stories. It started when the 30-year-old implied that SLOMW is scripted in a video posted to social media on Monday. Watch (below):
Jessi shut down the accusation, writing:
“Honey, just because you script YOURSELF doesn’t mean our show is scripted. This behavior, level of delusion, and downward spiral ‘should be studied.’”
Damn! The JZ Styles owner took the digs up a notch, however, when she caught wind of Demi’s response to Lisa shortly after! She reacted in a video on IG Stories, saying:
“I don’t know about you guys, but I’m loving this demi crash-out era right now. Her saying something like this is laughable because genuinely would never be jealous of someone saying these things that Lisa is saying about her. She got caught on camera. She knows it, and she’s trying to backtrack.”
And because Demi is acting “petty,” that is when she dropped the answer we’ve all been waiting for – what does Fruity Pebbles mean? Jessi said:
“Since she wants to be petty and be an a**hole, I think I am just going to go ahead and say that grandpa Bret likes to drink her piss like it is dirty soda. He gulps it down like water. And that’s what Fruity Pebbles is.”

Now cut to Demi, who clapped back in the comments. She said:
“I thought she took a break from social media? Good to know this is all it took to have that fame wh0re come crawling back.”
To which Jessi replied:
“Demi, I think you’re the one who needs a break from socials now. Time to ship off to the loony bin.”
This is getting bad. Real bad. Real, read bad.
Demi further addressed the pee comment from Jessi on her own account — and she didn’t deny it! However, she insisted it happened only one time! She wrote:
“What my husband and I did one-time behind closed doors, was a consensual and private experience in our marriage. I won’t let a private act between my husband and I be a distraction from a serious act that I did not consent to.”
Demi then accused Jessi of exposing her secret to distract from her affair:
“I shared this information with Jessi in confidence nearly two years ago. It’s very telling that she’s choosing to break storyline and bring it up now, only after her own affair has come to light. This is nothing more than a desperate attempt to shift attention away from her own behavior.”
Oh, we’re not done yet! Jessi had a lot more to say to Demi from there! She hit back at the statement, saying:
“I love a good PR written statement. Shift attention away from what exactly? I have been the only one between the two of us to actually face my story head on and share the details. I’m not hiding from a damn thing. You’re the one hiding sweetheart and everyone can see it.”
Jessi went on to record a video of herself BLASTING Demi and her husband as bullies. She said:
“Demi can say all she wants about that. I’m a fame whore. Maybe you’re right, Demi, but what you are is much worse. What you are is a liar. You’re a bad person. You’re a bully. All of these things that you’re doing now by commenting and spiraling and crashing out is showing who you really are, and this is the Demi that I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for the past two years and what I’ve experienced. … Demi has been this person since day one. Bret is also this person. They call people names. They put people down. They are bullies to their core.”
And it didn’t end there. She then accused Demi of lying about her sexual misconduct allegations:
“Demi’s also a f**king liar. I’m sorry. I’m just going to say it. She was not sexually assaulted. There’s so much proof that I have heard about. Other people have heard about, and her story keeps changing. I’m f**king done with giving her a platform. To act like a victim when there are actual real victims out there, and this is setting women back so far. To say something like this when you messed up and essentially me and you sweetie did the exact same thing, and look at how I handled it.”
Yikes. As for being a “fame whore,” Jessi believes Demi is actually one, pointing to her wanting to start a fake affair storyline with Taylor Frankie Paul‘s then-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, for attention. Ultimately, Jessi wants nothing to do with Demi anymore. She said she is “done being bullied by this person” and refuses to film with her anymore, nor will she talk about her online moving forward. That’s going to be an issue for production…
What a mess! We guess it is a good time to announce Mormon Wives was renewed for a Season 4, so get ready for a lot more Demi and Jessi drama! Even if they don’t film together moving forward! Reactions, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments!
