Netflix is getting new content today, adding one of TNT’s most popular police procedurals to its platform for fans to check out.
What TNT police show is coming to Netflix?
The Closer, the TNT police procedural starring Kyra Sedgwick, is officially on Netflix now in its entirety. The show’s seven-season, 109-episode run has been made available on the streamer, with fans able to check out the hit series.
The Closer originally premiered in 2005 and ran for seven seasons, ending in 2012. The series followed the story of Brenda Leigh Johnson (Sedgwick), an LAPD deputy chief who is also a CIA-trained interrogator. Nicknamed the “closer,” Johnson is known for obtaining confessions from nearly anyone, and the show follows her cases across the years.
Following its conclusion in 2012, the series received a spin-off, Major Crimes, that starred Mary McDonnell. That series also ran for over 100 episodes, airing for six seasons on TNT before ending in 2018.
Alongside Sedgwick, The Closer also starred J.K. Simmons, Corey Reynolds, Robert Gossett, G.W. Bailey, Tony Denison, Jon Tenney, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz, Gina Ravera, Phillip P. Keene, and Mary McDonnell. The series was created by James Duff, Michael M. Robin, and Greer Shephard.
