The Fockers are heading back to theaters, and the circle of trust still has room for a few more people.
Paramount International has released a new trailer for Focker-in-Law, the fourth movie in the Meet the Parents franchise, reuniting Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro for another round of uncomfortable family comedy.
This time, a younger couple is responsible for stirring up the trouble, with Skyler Gisondo and Ariana Grande joining the franchise.
It has been 16 years since Little Fockers arrived in theaters, and the story shifts some of the attention to Henry Focker, played by Gisondo, the son of Greg and Pam Focker.
Henry plans to marry Olivia Jones, played by Grande, and their relationship brings a fresh batch of complications to the already complicated family.
The official synopsis reads: “A young man named Henry, son of Greg and Pam Focker, incites more family chaos when he decides to marry a strong-willed woman who appears to be his complete mismatch.”
Grande is coming off Wicked, while Gisondo steps into a franchise that has spent decades turning awkward family encounters into increasingly ridiculous disasters.
Of course, Greg Focker still has his father-in-law Jack Byrnes to deal with, so there should be plenty of opportunity for the old Stiller and De Niro dynamic to return.
If you’re a fan of this franchise, then this looks like a sequel you’ll enjoy. It delivers the kind of familiar comedy that you’d expect from the franchise.
The returning cast also includes Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo, with Beanie Feldstein and Eduardo Franco also appearing in the sequel.
Focker-in-Law is directed by John Hamburg, who has plenty of history with studio comedies. His previous directing credits include Safe Men, Along Came Polly, I Love You, Man, Why Him? and Me Time.
The movie is based on the Meet the Parents films created by Greg Glienna and Mary Ruth Clarke. Jane Rosenthal, De Niro, Stiller, John Lesher, Jay Roach and Hamburg serve as producers.
The original Meet the Parents worked because its escalating discomfort felt painfully relatable, with Greg desperately trying to impress Jack while making practically every possible situation worse.
Whether Focker-in-Law can recapture that chemistry while handing part of the franchise over to a new generation remains to be seen.
Universal Pictures will release Focker-in-Law in theaters nationwide on November 25, 2026, just in time for Thanksgiving.
