Paradise star Nicole Brydon Bloom is recounting details of Justin Theroux’s proposal.
“He was very romantic,” Bloom, 30, recalled during the Thursday, February 6, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, joking Theroux, 53, was wearing “full leather” for the special moment. “He did it properly. It was very sweet [and] just the two of us.”
Bloom and Theroux have been together since 2023, confirming their engagement one year later. The two actors announced the news in August 2024 when Bloom showed off her diamond ring at the 2024 Venice Film Festival premiere of his movie Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
“Of course, I was nervous proposing,” Theroux told The Times of London that September. “It is a question after all, so the answer isn’t guaranteed. But it was wonderful.”

Theroux and the Gilded Age alum made their Instagram debut as a couple in December 2023 when Bloom shared pictures of the pair at her twin sister’s wedding in New York City. By March 2024, they hit the red carpet together for the first time at the Vanity Fair Oscar party in Los Angeles.
Before finding love with Bloom, Theroux was married to Jennifer Aniston from 2015 to 2018.
“She is still very dear to me so, of course, yeah, I feel protective,” he told The Times in 2024, noting that he and Aniston, 55, are still close.
Following Theroux and Aniston’s divorce, it took the actor some time to dive back into the dating scene.
“I don’t want to become a hermit. At all,” he quipped to Esquire in a 2021 profile. “What I’m most thirsty for now is friendship. Once that’s up and running, I’ll start thinking about the other stuff.”

Nearly two years later, Theroux fell in love with Bloom, and they kept much of their romance private.
Theroux later told Us Weekly in October 2024 that his beloved dog, Kuma, could possibly appear in the couple’s forthcoming wedding.
“I don’t know. Who knows?” he exclusively teased to Us.
Kuma joined Theroux and Bloom for a family night out at the Best Friends Animal Society’s Benefit to Save Them All gala in September 2024. The next month, the couple were seen taking the pup for a walk in the Big Apple.
“She was 3 years old when I got her. She was very neglected and in very bad shape, but she really assimilated beautifully,” he told Us of his pet in October 2024. “She is a very, as you can see, very kind dog, very gentle dog. … She’s my fifth pit bull, and every single one of them has been incredible.”
