When Notting Hill premiered in 1999, Grant was already an accredited actor in the industry, having catapulted to international film success after starring in Four Weddings and a Funeral.
In the early 2000s, Grant continued to find success as a romantic lead in classics like Bridget Jones’ Diary, Music and Lyrics, and Love Actually.
Today, the 63-year-old has moved away from the rom-com genre to take on more gritty roles such as a British politician in A Very English Scandal and a private investigator in The Gentlemen.
“The more duplicitous and diabolical and selfish and vain a character is these days, the more it appeals to me. I don’t know what that says about me,” Grant revealed in an interview with Empire Sun.
The actor recently played con artist Forge Fitzwilliam in the video game to film adaptation, Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves.
You can also catch him in Wonka, a modern musical take on Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, which will be released in December 2023.
