David and Victoria Beckham‘s olive branch didn’t go as planned.
As we previously reported, the Beckhams tried to extend some love to their estranged son Brooklyn Beckham on his birthday. Both mom and dad shared some sweet pics and messages for their boy’s 27th, likely hoping to spark a reconciliation or at the very least a conversation — but it seems to have backfired.
Per a source for US Weekly on Friday, Brooks completely “ignored” his dad’s message:
“Brooklyn ignored David’s attempt at getting his attention with that birthday post. He thinks it’s just another way for them to save face with the public and that it did not feel meaningful.”
Ouch.

And as far as how he’s feeling afterward? The insider said he’s “keeping his distance”:
“He is still keeping his distance and is not in touch with his parents. They are trying, but Brooklyn has ignored their attempts.”
The eldest Beckham son spent his day with his wife, Nicola Peltz, instead:
“He had a lovely day celebrating with Nicola, and she made him feel special. He is not letting any of the nonsense bother him.”
Oof. That’s gotta sting for Posh and Becks! But honestly, with how things have been going so far, we don’t see how this could’ve turned out any other way… We mean, he specifically asked for no contact or public social media posts, no?
If Brooklyn hasn’t reached out by now, we don’t see how a little birthday post would suddenly make things alright. There’s definitely going to be a LOT of work behind the scenes before these guys reunite.
Reactions, Perezcious readers?
