After 18 years together actress Marion Cotillard and director Guillaume Canet have split.
Entertainment Weekly confirmed the news after a representative for the couple had earlier in the day shared the details with Agence France-Press, explaining that the pair had come to a mutual agreement to end their relationship.
Cotillard, best known for her Oscar-winning role in La Vie en Rose or as Talia in The Dark Knight Rises, first began dating Canet back in 2007.

While the pair never married, they do share two children together, son Marcel, 14, and daughter Louise, eight.
In terms of the European entertainment industry, Cotillard and Canet were seen as a force to be reckoned with.
Cotillard had broken into the American market, acting alongside stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Cillian Murphy and Kate Winslet and even scoring herself an Academy Award for leading actress back in 2008.

For his part, Canet was mostly a name in the French cinema industry, perhaps best known to American and Australian audiences for his 2000 role in Danny Boyle’s The Beach.
He also has an extensive resume in terms of French cinema as both an actor and director, earning himself a César Award (France’s national film award which is often considered the nation’s equivalent of an Oscar) for his 2006 film Tell No One.
The couple have also worked together on several films such as Love Me If You Dare, Rock ‘N’ Roll, and The Last Flight.

Back in 2001 he tied the knot with actress Diane Kruger before the couple went their separate ways in 2006.
