Could the world be about to see a tie-up between Taylor Sheridan and Arsenal soccer legend Thierry Henry?
Fresh off its plus-$1BN deal for Champion’s League soccer rights in the UK, Paramount+ has launched a partnership with Arsenal that the U.S. giant says will “see Arsenal players, club legends and supporters come together to celebrate some of Paramount+’s iconic series.”
Paramount flagged the likes of Landman and MobLand as shows that will be given marketing firepower by Arsenal. Arsenal will also work with Paramount+ on a series of social media campaigns, and there will be Paramount+ branding featured during men and women’s match days across big screens.
Henry, an Arsenal soccer legend, has today narrated a promotional vid titled “For the Love of the Team.”
“We’re beyond excited to unite Paramount+ and Arsenal– two global iconic brands with supporters that live and breathe passion,” said Marco Nobili, Executive Vice President and International General Manager of Paramount+. “With hit series like SpongeBob, South Park, Landman, Yellowstone and more, we’re creating experiences that celebrate teamwork, elevate the game and connect supporters.”
Paramount struck a similar deal with David Beckham last year, which saw Beckham host an alternative telecast to CBS Sports‘ Champions League coverage.
The news comes just a few days after the newly-minted Paramount-Skydance won rights to show the Champions League in the UK and Germany following a heated auction, which is set to run from 2027-2031 and is reported to have cost the studio well in excess of the current $1.3BN deal in place with Warner Bros. Discovery’s TNT Sports.
