EXCLUSIVE: ITV Studios alum Pascal Dalton is setting up shop.
Dalton has launched Shimmer Media, described as “bringing a fresh perspective to format management and monetisation.”
Effectively, Dalton’s company will act as a consultancy in format development, deals, brand management and wider licensing activity. It will also help with social media campaigns and “tackling IP infringement,” Shimmer said. The company kicks off with clients including All3 Media International, where Dalton has acted as a formats consultant, Bulgarian prodco Hidalgo Productions, where he is advising on international business strategy and London-based gaming and animation business Inviox Studios, where he is a part-time Chief Business Development Officer.
Dalton is a former Head of Brand Partnerships for North EMEA (format sales) at ITV Studios, where he was responsible for 26 territories and looked after brands on the likes of Love Island, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here and Come Dine with Me. He spent seven years with ITV Studios. Prior to this he was at then-Endemol Shine Group, moving up from Sales and Licensing Manager to Regional Sales Director, Formats: CEE, working on MasterChef, Deal or No Deal and Big Brother.
Dalton’s outfit has officially launched ahead of next week’s London TV Screenings and MIP London.
Dalton said: “The television industry is challenging us at present – as it often has done before – but this presents Shimmer and our clients with a unique opportunity. As an agile organisation, we can use our network and experience to swiftly get formats in front of the right people to meet market demand, but we can also give titles and their owners the attention they deserve.”
