On Friday, the eternally chic Queen Letizia looked resplendent as she was pictured at an event for the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. Held at the Museo Universidad de Navarra in Spain, the event saw the 53-year-old in an unintentionally retro look.
The mother-of-two wore a pair of black cropped trousers by Boss, which looked rather like Capri pants. She teamed the sleek trews with a black blouse, also by the German label, and a pair of kitten heels by Pretty Ballerinas.
Amping up the classic look, she added a pastel pink, tailored blazer by high street store Zara.
This ensemble looked as if it could have been worn by the ‘Pink Ladies’ in the iconic American movie, Grease. The characters in the show, from Frenchy to Rizzo, famously wear all black ensembles, and add a pink jacket, which gives the gang its famous name.
Although the famous ‘Pink Ladies’ jacket is of the bomber variety, the mix of the two shades Letizia chose was reminiscent of this memorable style.
Letizia’s love of pink
Letizia is widely considered one of the most fashion-forward European royals on the scene, thanks to her penchant for trying out asymmetrical silhouettes and bold colours.
Pink is a shade she frequently wears, and in 2025, she donned one of our favourite looks to date when she attended the imposition of the Golden Fleece (Toison de Oro) at the Royal Palace in Madrid.
For the ceremony, three generations of the family gathered: Queen Sofía, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, and Crown Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía. The Order of the Golden Fleece is one of the oldest and most prestigious orders of chivalry across the continent, and the highest distinction awarded by the King of Spain.
The ceremony is known for being a formal, splendid affair. For such an occasion, it was vital for Queen Letizia to look glamorous without stealing the spotlight, and she nailed this notion by donning a pastel pink, almost ‘Barbie’ pink look from Venezuelan designer Carolina Herrera.
It featured a jacket with strikingly structured and slightly puffed shoulders, and a figure-hugging midi skirt. To round off her ensemble, she brought out a matching bag and pink patent leather pumps from Magrit, as well as rose gold and diamond earrings from ethical Spanish brand Gold & Roses.
