Amanda Frances reflected on her spat with Sutton Stracke after Thursday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
As she also defended excluding Dorit Kemsley, 49, from her manifest party, and Dorit reacted to the lack of an invite, Amanda, 41, refuted claims of deflecting her past comments onto Kyle Richards, 57, slammed the cast for continuously looking for problems, and accused the group of failing to have conversations with the intention of resolution.
“[Sutton] says, ‘Don’t be a wimp,’ and I say, ‘Don’t talk to me that way at my house,’ because it was just a dig and we had managed to not do any name-calling yet, and I try to do that as an adult, high-functioning woman,” Amanda explained on the February 12 episode of the RHOBH: After Show.
Meanwhile, Sutton, 54, pointed out that she tends to say “things to [her castmates’] faces” and accused Amanda of pushing her thoughts about Dorit and her negative chatter about her estranged husband, Paul “PK” Kemlsey, 58, “over to Kyle.”
As for Amanda, she felt that she was simply “conveying how things happened in the order in which they happened in [her] heart and in [her] intention.”
“They were saying, ‘But you just blamed Kyle. You just blamed Kyle. You just deflected.’ And I’m like, ‘But Kyle was an integral part of the story.’ Listen, I could have told the whole thing without mentioning Kyle, but in my experience, that’s how it happened,” she shared.
After Erika Jayne, 54, noted that the cast had “seen people called worse,” she admitted that being hit with labels in your own home is not something anyone wants to hear.
Reflecting on the spat in a chat with Dorit, Bozoma “Boz” Saint John, 49, said she was surprised to see that Sutton was having Dorit’s back.
“She was out here defending you, and I was like, ‘Oh, Sutton Brown. Here we go.’ I was very impressed by that,” she noted.
According to Dorit, she had lunch with Sutton before her spat with Amanda and confronted her for not having spoken up on her behalf earlier.
“I said, ‘Where were you that night when we had dinner?’ Sutton was there. She’s the one who gave me the information and she wasn’t saying anything, so she took that,” Dorit revealed. “And so once again, I was encouraged by Sutton Brown. I was impressed, and I was encouraged, and I felt like this is really someone who’s making concerted efforts to be a better friend.”
Still, Amanda felt that her co-stars were looking for a problem.
“If people show up to someone’s dinner party looking to pick apart and shine a light on everything someone could’ve done different or better, one, that’s odd behavior, and two, if you’re looking for stuff, you’re going to find it,” she explained. “They wanted to draw out more of how they perceive I did something wrong. Again, not the intention to resolve, clear things up, and get on the same page.”
“I had yet to have a conversation about this matter where we wanted to understand each other. I literally thought that when you have conversations with friends, the goal was to understand each other more,” she added.
During another moment of the RHOBH: After Show, Amanda explained why she didn’t invite Dorit to he manifestation party.
“Why would I invite her to my dinner table at my home when she has spoken bout me the way she did at two other dinner tables. Like, would anyone have invited her?” she asked.
“I would’ve,” Kyle replied. “When there’s an issue in the group, I usually just invite everybody, and if she doesn’t want to come, she doesn’t come.”
“To me, everybody’s invited,” Kathy Hilton, 66, agreed.
But Erika felt that Amanda had good reason not to want Dorit in her home.
“If I go back to the night at [Rachel Zoe’s] dinner party, and then the next experience I have is at the other dinner, I can see where Amanda, I can see where she’s like, ‘I don’t know that I want her at my house,’” she reasoned. “That’s not unrealistic. And why should she have all the goodwill? I mean, at some point, do I think she plays a part in all of this? I do. But it’s on her turf.”
Elsewhere, after Sutton suggested that it was “awfully early” to be excluding certain members of the group, Boz labeled Amanda’s move “petty.”
“Beyond,” Dorit replied. “The way it seemed from Kyle, everyone … she deliberately didn’t invite me.”
“Why?” Boz wondered. “There’s not that much beef that you would have to make a statement like that.”
Although she may not have understood the move, Dorit made it clear she didn’t care that she was left out.
“I don’t think I could’ve been more unbothered,” she added.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 15 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
