Teresa Giudice recently appeared via video on a morning show where she quickly disconnected her call after being asked about her unpaid taxes.
After she and her husband, Luis Ruelas, 50, were hit with over $3 million in tax liens, the 53-year-old Real Housewives of New Jersey star was faced with a slew of questions pertaining to her time on Bravo before being asked about why she and her family hadn’t paid their taxes in years.
Speaking to WGN News in a video that’s since been removed from YouTube, Teresa admitted to having regrets about her behavior.
“Obviously … Oh my God, I’ve been on TV 18 years,” she noted.
Then, after saying that Next Gen NYC was “amazing” and noting that “everyone [seemed] to love” the new show, on which her oldest daughter, Gia Giudice, 24, stars, Teresa said she loved watching Gia on television.
“It’s a great show. I love all the cast members. They’re all great,” she gushed.
She also said that while she doesn’t have a “problem” with her former castmate, Danielle Staub, 62, whom she flipped a table on during season one, she hasn’t “seen her in a while.”
While everything was going well, as Teresa said she hoped she would be brought back for another season of RHONJ, one of the WGN News hosts then mentioned her tax troubles.
“How is it that a family doesn’t pay their taxes for years?” the man asked.
“Um, whose … What family?” Teresa replied.
“Your family. Is that what the fraud charges were?” he pressed.
At that point, Teresa ended the interview, saying, “Okay, I’m hanging up. This is … Let’s just hang up. That’s it.”
After Teresa hung up, the man admitted, “Wow. She didn’t like that question. Wasn’t that part of the show?”
“Well, she did go to jail for 11 months, and now, I think her and her husband are facing tax charges again,” his co-host replied.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey is currently on pause ahead of its 15th season.
