Just in time for the opening weekend of Scream 7, the gang from Scary Movie has clawed its way back onto the big screen. Paramount dropped the first full trailer for Scream 6, and it’s taking swings at all of the modern horror franchises.
From Scream to Halloween, from Sinners to Weapons, nobody’s safe. If it’s horror and it’s breathing, this movie is coming for it.
The trailer for Scary Movie 6 leans hard into the current “legacy sequel” obsession that’s been dominating theaters, and who better to poke fun at that trend than the franchise that made a franchise out of turning horror tropes inside out?
The so-called “core 4” are back. Shorty, Ray, Cindy, and Brenda have survived decades since their run-in with that suspiciously familiar masked killer.
Now they’re older, maybe not wiser, and once again facing off against another masked psycho who’s apparently determined to wipe them out along with every other horror franchise in existence.
That means the return of Marlon Wayans as Shorty, Shawn Wayans as Ray, Anna Faris as Cindy, and Regina Hall as Brenda. Seeing this crew together again feels like a fun and chaotic reunion.
The trailer packs in rapid-fire gags aimed squarely at the current horror landscape. There are clear riffs on Terrifier, M3GAN, The Substance, and Sinners, plus a quick nod to Wednesday for good measure.
The jokes don’t stop at movie references either. The script also dives into pronoun humor and safe space gags, making it clear this entry wants to skewer modern culture along with modern horror.
It’s loud, it’s ridiculous, and it looks exactly like what you’d expect from a new Scary Movie in 2026. The franchise has always thrived on exaggeration and shock value, and this one seems determined to crank everything up while poking fun at the very idea of rebooting and reviving beloved characters decades later.
Whether you’re a die-hard fan of the original films or someone who’s grown up on the new wave of horror hits, Scary Movie 6 looks ready to roast them all.
The movie hits theaters on June 12, and it looks like a good time!
