“With a healthy dose of yellow sun, we’ll have you up and at ’em in no time.” Wow. WB has revealed a 5-minute “Sneak Peek” promo trailer for James Gunn’s new Superman movie direct from CinemaCon in Las Vegas. Formerly known as Superman: Legacy, it follows Supes as he reconciles his heritage with his human upbringing in Kansas as Clark Kent. Written & directed by Gunn, David Corenswet (of “The Politician”, “We Own This City”, “Lady in the Lake”, Twisters) stars as Clark Kent / Superman this time. The ensemble cast includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, plus Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk (whose voice you can hear as one of the automatons), Pruitt Taylor Vince, & Neva Howell. This is a spectacular and exciting way of introducing us all to the new Fortress of Solitude, plus even more mesmerizing new footage from the movie (complementing everything in the first trailer). Krypto the Dog is in this again! Bringing a damaged Supes home. Plus a quick burst of new footage at the end to whet our appetites for the 2025 summer movie season.

The superhero film explores Clark Kent / Superman’s (starring David Corenswet) journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his adoptive human family in Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way in a world that views this as old-fashioned. Superman, formerly known as Superman: Legacy, is directed by acclaimed American writer / filmmaker James Gunn, who now runs DC Studios and directed the movies Slither, Super, Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, DC’s The Suicide Squad previously, plus this year’s Creature Commandos series; he also wrote the screenplay for Zack Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead film and Greg McLean’s The Belko Experiment. The screenplay is also by James Gunn; based on characters from DC Comics created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster. Produced by Peter Safran and James Gunn for DC Studios. Warner Bros opens Gunn’s Superman movie in theaters worldwide on July 11th, 2025 this summer. Still looking good? Who’s ready?
