VIAL are trying to untether themselves from obsession on their new track, “IDLE HANDS,” out now via Trout Hole Records. Written and recorded in the midst of heartbreak, “IDLE HANDS” is a fiery, emotionally charged punk track that channels bassist and vocalist Taylor Kraemer’s experience into song.
“‘IDLE HANDS’ is an urgent plea for affection; limerence bottled up in a two-and-a-half-minute punky blast,” Kraemer says. “Its desperate heartbeat is set to a driving rhythm, with a hook that grabs hold and doesn’t let go.

“I recorded the vocals for ‘IDLE HANDS’ in the studio with a completely broken heart, and I think that rawness and desperation really come through in the final product,” Kraemer adds. “I was really inspired by Courtney Love’s saccharine vocals, especially on tracks such as ‘Violet.’ This song has been stuck in my head for months.”
Just in time for Halloween, the video features the Minneapolis-based band, consisting of Kraemer, drummer and vocalist Katie Fischer, and guitarist and vocalist KT Branscom, as witches performing a ritual on a man.
Next month, VIAL will support Durry on their East Coast dates, running until mid-November. Stream “IDLE HANDS” and check out their 2025/2026 tour dates below.
