Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for Sesame Street, the PBS series first on the streamer.
The reimagined season, its 56th overall, debuts Monday, Nov. 10 on Netflix in 30+ languages.
The new episodes, which will now each center on one 11-minute story, will be available same day-and-date in the U.S. on PBS stations and PBS KIDS digital platforms.
Episodes, which will drop in three volumes, will feature interactive, immersive, and visually engaging 11-minute stories that put young viewers at the center of the action, according to Netflix. Professional race car driver and NASCAR champion Bubba Wallace will guest star in the first volume. “Throughout the season, Sesame Street friends will explore compassion, kindness, and social problem-solving in ways little ones can relate to — whether it’s learning to take turns, cheering up a friend, or finding ways to solve problems together,” Netflix says.
In addition to format changes, the new season will feature the return of fan-favorite segments like Elmo’s World and Cookie Monster’s Foodie Truck.
Netflix picked up the iconic series after HBO Max opted not to renew the show’s streaming deal at the end of last year.
“Season 56 reimagines Sesame Street, inviting children into the action and bringing them hand-in-hand through high-stakes stories, powerful learning moments, and laugh-out-loud surprises,” said Sesame Street executive producer Sal Perez. “And, as always, Sesame Street’s curriculum is designed to meet children’s most pressing needs — so our focus this season is on kindness and compassion, something we can all use more of today.”
