The family of Shifty Shellshock spoke out about the Crazy Town frontman’s death for the first time.
As we previously reported, the 49-year-old singer — whose real name was Seth Binzer — died at his home in Los Angeles on Monday from an accidental drug overdose. Shifty’s manager, Howie Hubberman, told People that his cause of death was “a combination of prescription drugs and street purchased drugs.” So sad. Now, days after the news of his passing broke, his family broke their silence.

In a statement obtained by The Sun on Saturday, they shared that the rockstar’s “proudest accomplishments” in life were his three sons — Halo, Gage, and Phoenix. The family continued:
“To Seth, the world was art — he loved every part of it, from music and fashion to graffiti, skateboarding and his hometown of Los Angeles. He loved his three boys more than anything, and his dedication to his music and fans never wavered.”
His loved ones then acknowledged his struggles with addiction – something he’s been open about over the years. They said:
“Seth struggled with addiction throughout his life, he did so on a very public platform which was particularly challenging. God knows he tried so hard to beat his demons but sadly he lost his battle. Our hearts are shattered by his loss. Seth’s larger-than-life presence touched so many. Seth was a troubled soul but he was a beautiful one and he had a heart of gold.”
Our hearts go out to his family during this difficult time. Reactions to the statement, Perezcious readers? Let us know.
