If the payments remain ongoing until her child turns 18, the Chandelier singer would have forked out a whopping $13 million.
The singer’s net worth is an estimated $US35 million ($50 million).
In addition to the monthly child support payments, Sia is responsible for covering private school tuition, extracurricular activities and health insurance for her child.
Before the news of the child support payments broke, Sia poked fun at her financial situation on Amazon’s real-life comedy Company Retreat.
Playing herself, she told the main character she is “desperate” for the money they were paying her for a gig at a company retreat.
“They’re paying me a ton, which I’m really grateful for, I’m going through a divorce … I got the house, but he got all the crypto,” she joked.
“I really need this gig.”
It’s understood the joint custody arrangement outlines specific days Bernad has custody of their son, as well as a detailed division of holidays, according to People.
Sia filed for divorce from Bernad one year after their son was born, and two years after they were married.
He previously tried to get more than $US250,000 ($384,000) in monthly spousal support payments from Sia.
