Sir David Beckham has been seen in public for the first time since his son Brooklyn Peltz Beckham shared explosive claims about their family feud.
The former football star arrived at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Tuesday, just hours after his eldest child accused him and wife Victoria Beckham of “controlling” him, hijacking his wedding and feeding stories to the press about him.
David, 50, was happy to do interviews but when asked about his son’s statement by reporters on the ground in Davos, he ignored the questions and carried on walking past.
During a chat with CNBC about children and social media, David briefly touched on his own kids and his parenting style.
“I have always spoke about social media and the power of social media… For the good and for the bad,” he began.
“What kids can access these days, it can be dangerous. But what I’ve found personally, especially with my kids as well – use it for the right reasons.
“I’ve been able to use my platform for my following, for UNICEF and it’s been the biggest tool to make people aware of what’s going on around the world for children.

“And I have tried to do the same with my children, to educate them.
“They make mistakes, [but] children are allowed to make mistakes, that’s how they learn, that is what I try to teach my kids, you sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well.”
David’s reference to kids making mistakes on social media may have been alluding to his 26-year-old son’s statement, which was released via social media.
Brooklyn broke his silence following more than a year of rumours about a simmering feud between him, his wife Nicole Peltz Beckham and his parents.
“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” he started the bombshell statement.
Across six Instagram Story posts, Brooklyn unleashed a number of explosive claims against his parents and refuted the “controlled narrative” they presented in the press.
“Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed,” he continued.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.
“Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own façade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”
Brooklyn also accused his mum, the famed Spice Girl turned fashion designer, of pulling the pin on a wedding dress for Nicola at the 11th hour, leaving the bride-to-be in the lurch and wearing a Valentino dress, which played out in the press as a perceived snub to her mother-in-law.
Brooklyn also claims Victoria hijacked the song that was meant to be his wedding song with his wife, instead turning it into an “inappropriate” mother-son dance.
“I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my life,” he said of the moment.

Much like the royal family, David and Victoria are yet to respond to or comment on the myriad of claims made by their son.
Instead, they are keeping calm and carrying on – both taking to social media since the explosive statement was released but not touching on the controversy.
David shared a tribute to a friend celebrating a birthday, while Victoria promoted son Cruz Beckham’s newest musical venture.
Romeo Beckham, 23, also promoted his younger brother’s musical efforts, while 21-year-old Cruz took advantage of all the extra eyeballs on his social media to push multiple photos and posters for his work.
The youngest Beckham baby is Harper, with the 14-year-old not on social media and largely kept out of the spotlight.
