Iconic superstar Snoop Dogg has been joined by an Aussie music legend for the much-anticipated AFL grand final pre-show entertainment at the MCG.
The US rapper brought the more than 100,000-strong crowd to their feet with a show-stopping performance of some of his top hits including Nothing But a G-Thang and Drop It Like It’s Hot.
But the energy reached fever pitch when Australia’s very own Jessica Mauboy appeared on stage alongside the US star.
Wearing a blue varsity style jacket the former Australian Idol star sang along to Snoop Dogg’s famous song Beautiful.
The US rapper flew threw each verse before Mauboy lended her crystal clear vocals to the chorus.
At one point in their performance, Snoop Dogg called for the crowd to clap their hands as they sang.
“Everybody just clap their hands,” he told the audience as they began to clap along.

Snoop Dogg and Jessica Mauboy’s show-stopping performance marks a reunion for the stars who famously collaborated on Mauboy’s 2010 song Get ‘Em Girls.
Their reunion came towards the end of Snoop Dogg’s performance which ignited the energy at the MCG as they awaited the much-anticipated grand final between the Brisbane Lions and Geelong Cats.
Before taking to the stage, Snoop Dogg was introduced to the crowd in a pre-recorded message.
”Music and sport, my two great loves. They hit me hard. And team sport, undeniable,” he said to the crowd from the MCG’s screens.
“The biggest moments are there to be owned. Every everything you have. Small, big, the link in the chain Everything matters. That is the top dog mentality. Its grand final time, baby. Greatness is on the line,” he continued.
He then proceeded to call on Geelong Cats fans to cheer for their players before asking Brisbane Lions fans to do the same.
”Make some noise,” he asked the crowd. “It’s show time baby.”
The US rapper then appeared on the field running out from the MCG’s tunnel.
Joined by a marching band and dancers dressed as cheerleaders, Snoop Dogg burst into his invigorating headlining performance.
The performance opened up with the iconic riff from Snoop Dogg’s song Smoke Weed Everyday before kicking into several of his top hits including Nothing But A G Thang, Drop It Like It’s Hot, Sweat and Signs.
The US rapper’s dancers and backup performers took over the mid-field tiered stage and spilled onto the field as he performed.
The show was complete with dancing trombone players, flag bearers, cheerleaders and pyrotechnics that shot up from behind the performers.
Along with Jessica Mauboy, Snoop Dogg was also joined by Aussie superstars Baker Boy and Tash Sultana to perform ahead of the grand final.
Before Snoop Dogg took to the stage, the Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment was kicked off by Yolngu rapper, dancer and artist Baker Boy who performed his song Thick Skin on the field with a choir of five powerful singers including Emma Donovan and Kee’ahn both of whom feature on the singer’s single.
The Aria winner wore an all-white look for the performance while his choir wore all-black.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a grand final performance without the one and only Mike Brady’s Up There Cazaly.
Soon after Baker Boy’s performance, Mike Brady took to the stage inviting the entire crowd to join him in singing the unofficial AFL anthem.
The crowd sang along the famous lyrics of the song referring to St Kilda and South Melbourne player Roy Cazaly.
Snoop Dogg’s grand final headliner performance follows the likes of Katy Perry, The Killers and Robbie Williams who have headlined the league’s grand final show in years past.
It’s no new feat for the singer who performed in the 2022 Super Bowl half time show, and last year headlined the Paris Olympics closing ceremony which saw him then officially open the 2028 LA Games in America.
“I was a kid that dreamed of meeting athletes. Now I’m actually able to perform for the biggest sporting events in the world,” the US rapper said in a conversation with Fox Sports ahead of the grand final.
“So this is a dream come true and it’s inspiration and motivation for the next that comes behind me.”
As preparations for the big day got underway, Snoop Dogg was spotted Thursday rehearsing for his headliner show alongside Australian stars Jessica Mauboy and Tash Sultana.
