Tom Holland wants to see Miles Morales or Spider-Gwen show up in the MCU in the near future. There’s been no confirmation from Marvel that either character will show up in any forthcoming MCU project, but Holland has some ideas for how it could work.
Holland is reprising his role as Spider-Man/Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which will be released in United States theaters this summer by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. The film is directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Wonder Man’s Destin Daniel Cretton.
What did Tom Holland say about Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen?
Speaking with Empire Magazine, Holland reflected on what the future might hold for Peter Parker in Brand New Day and beyond that. He specifically mentioned that he hopes Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, or one of the Spider-Women gets introduced, and that his character gets to mentor them.
“For whoever’s next, whether that is a Miles Morales or a Spider-Gwen or a Spider-Woman or something like that, I would love to be a part of setting up the next chapter,” he said. “Whatever that looks like, I don’t know. But if I could do what Downey did for me, then I would be so content swinging off into the sunset.”
Holland’s comments make it sound like neither Miles Morales nor Gwen Stacy will actually be appearing in Brand New Day; although, stranger things have happened in the MCU, as the shared universe has prepped fans to always expect the unexpected. Audiences can find out for sure when Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives on July 31, 2026.
In addition to Holland, the cast of the movie includes Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Michael Mando as Scorpion, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, and more.
