The last two days of Star Wars Celebration Japan were quieter than the first, hence why we put off our recaps until today, but there were still several major announcements from Lucasfilm, Bit Reactor, Respawn Entertainment, and more.

§ It was announced the third volume of Star Wars: Visions — the non-canon anime anthology series — will be released on Disney+ on October 29, 2025. Additionally, it was revealed one of the films from the first volume, The Ninth Jedi, will be spun off into a new series, simply called Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi.

The original Ninth Jedi, directed by Kenji Kamiyama, followed the daughter of a lightsaber-smith, who embarks on a quest to rescue her father when he is kidnapped by the Sith. Kamiyama will serve as supervising director on the spin-off, which in the meantime, will also be set up by a sequel in Vol. 3, titled The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope.

§ Bit Reactor, a new studio formed by veterans of the XCOM and Civilization franchises, unveiled Star Wars Zero Company, a turn-based tactical game, developed in collaboration with Respawn (Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order & Survivor.) Set during the end of the Clone Wars, the game follows a diverse team of mercenaries, who “must set aside their differences to take on an emerging threat that will consume the galaxy if left unchecked.”

As well as four original characters, players will be able to fill out Zero Company with their own customizable squad members. It will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2026. At the time of writing, the only confirmed voice cast member is Dee Bradley Baker, who will voice Trick, the squad’s ex-clone trooper.

§ LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past, a sequel to last year’s Disney+ miniseries, was announced. It was revealed the new series will feature the brick-built, 2319-piece version of Chewbacca, plus Jaxxon (voiced by Sonic the Hedgehog star Ben Schwartz), and the BrickHeadz version of Ahsoka Tano (voiced again by Ashley Eckstein.) It will mark the first media appearance from Jaxxon, who originally debuted in Roy Thomas and Howard Chaykin‘s Star Wars #8 (1977). All four episodes of Pieces of the Past will be released on Disney+ on September 19, 2025.

§ Speaking of Ahsoka, at a panel for her eponymous show, Hayden Christensen shared he would return as Anakin Skywalker in the second season, while creator Dave Filoni revealed Admiral Ackbar will appear, now spearheading the New Republic’s fight against Grand Admiral Thrawn. Filoni also confirmed Rory McCann will take over from the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, while showing the first photos of him in-character.

A trailer, comprised of concept art, teased the arrival of “ancient machines from a dark and dangerous past,” and the return of Garazeb Orrelios (who will be seen beforehand in The Mandalorian & Grogu.) Furthermore, it was revealed that Loth-kittens, presumably birthed by Sabine Wren’s loth-cat, will appear, and that the Mortis gods, who were introduced in The Clone Wars, will have a greater role in the story. Filming on Ahsoka season two begins next week, for a release on Disney+ sometime in 2026 or 2027.

§ Finally, it was announced the next Star Wars Celebration will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from April 1, to April 4, 2027. It will mark the first time Celebration has been held in Los Angeles since 2006, but more importantly, will mark 50 years since A New Hope premiered at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, Hollywood, in 1977.

As always, for more from Celebration (including a new Fortnite collaboration), head to the official Star Wars news page, and the Star Wars YouTube channel. And of course, may the Force be with you, always.
