The summer sun is no joke, and finding the right sunscreen can be quite the chose depending on what you’re looking for. So, we’ve cut out the hard work and assembled a list of our favorite sunscreens, and why just for you.
To take care of your skin it is important to use antioxidants in the morning and regular sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher while avoiding direct sun exposure, especially from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. when the sun’s rays are the strongest. With so many people in the entertainment industry on strike in the hot California sun, we can’t stress re-applying your sunscreen enough. It’s helpful to use a double-duty sunscreen designed to both protect the skin from the sun and help improve the quality of sun-damaged skin. Don’t forget before you head out, even if you’re in the sun for just a few minutes without sunscreen protection, damage can still settle in.

Many sunscreens also offer tinted options for a fresh-faced, radiant complexion, minus the need for extra makeup. Our favorite for the past several years has been Supergoop! With 40spf and a $38 price point it’s wonderful for both your skin and your wallet.

With a water resistant formula that leaves no whitecast it’s no surprise that Shiseido also makes our summer must have list for best sunscreens. We swear by this sunscreen for beach days, and we’ve never had a break out after enjoying it either. It’s a win-win all around. The price is a bit higher but it’s worth the investment for healthy and protected skin.

We can’t make a favorite sunscreen list without La Roche Posay. This cult favorite is also one of our favorites: La Roche Posay Anthelios UV correct spf 70. Packed with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide “for multitasking protection which also reduces the appearance of dark spots and improves skin elasticity.”
