Marcus Mumford‘s debut solo monitor, “Cannibal,” has obtained some very unique therapy for its accompanying video. How unique? The clip was directed by none aside from Steven Spielberg — a primary for the Academy Award-winning director.
Shot solely on an iPhone, the video was created by simply 4 folks, who Mumford credited in an Instagram publish. Spielberg’s spouse, Kate Capshaw, was the video’s co-producer, artwork director and dolly grip, whereas The Nice Gatsby actress (and Mumford’s spouse) Carey Mulligan dealt with costuming and sound. Kristie Macosko Krieger was a producer and the videographer of the behind-the-scenes footage. Mumford recognized himself as “some chancer mug” and the monitor’s performer.
“On Sunday third July in a highschool fitness center in New York, Steven Spielberg directed his first music video, in a single shot, on his telephone. Kate Capshaw was the almighty dolly grip,” Mumford wrote of the video on Instagram.
“I’ve been overwhelmed by the help of the folks round me to convey this music to you, and I can’t hope to precise all of my gratitude. When folks get it, it blows my thoughts. Kate and Steven simply received it, and I can’t thank them sufficient. Thanks Kate. Thanks Kristie. Thanks Steven.”
Mumford’s debut solo launch album, (Self-titled), arrives on Sept. 16. Brandi Carlile, Phoebe Bridgers and Clairo are among the many artists making visitor appearances.
