Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham: Within 48 hours, three Fleetwood Mac members have shared cryptic Instagram posts sparking reunion rumours – here’s what we think it means

A potential Fleetwood Mac reunion in 2025? We must be dreaming.

Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham have sent fans into a spiral with two simple Instagram posts.

The pair make up one of the most tumultuous love stories in rock and roll history, with fans thinking they had finally let go of one another after their infamous fallout in 2018 that resulted in Buckingham being kicked out of the band.

But it seems Nicks and Buckingham aren’t quite done with each other just yet.

Early Friday morning Nicks took to Instagram to share an image of a handwritten note that read “And if you go forward”.

Within the hour, Buckingham had shared his own matching post, reading, “I’ll meet you there”.

Fans instantly recognised the two notes together make up the opening line of the chorus from the song Frozen Love, released by the pair as Buckingham Nicks in 1973 before they joined Fleetwood Mac.

“No because what is going on in this house,” actress Rachel Zegler commented on Nicks’ post.

Other fans have also gone wild in the comments section, with one joking that a “60 year situationship is crazy”.

Another fan referenced the song Silver Springs and the pair’s infamous 1997 performance, writing, “What in the silver springs is going on around here!!!!”

While some fans are speculating the cryptic Instagram posts are clues that either the album Buckingham Nicks is going to be re-released, or that there’ll be a reunion between the pair, many are failing to realise it appears to be something even bigger.

While Nicks and Buckingham’s posts are the talk of the town, a third member of Fleetwood Mac has also given away a major clue that appears to have gone unnoticed.

The timeless comment that explains how Fleetwood Mac endured

The day before Nicks and Buckingham posted their notes, the band’s drummer Mick Fleetwood shared a video on Instagram that appeared to be a simple moment of nostalgia but now seems to be a major piece of the puzzle.

In the clip – a joint post made between Fleetwood and the band’s official Instagram page – the musician sat amongst some stunning scenery wearing a pair of headphones, bopping along as the song Frozen Love played.

Then, he took his headphones off to address his followers.

“Unbelievable. The marriage of Stevie and Lindsey, the marriage of coming into Fleetwood Mac when they did, it’s all in this song,” he said.

“It’s in the music… What a thrill.”

Fleetwood simply captioned the post, “Magic then, magic now,” and both nicks and Buckingham have liked it.

So it seems whatever is coming is bigger than just Nicks and Buckingham.

While fans are trying not to get their hopes up with the band’s tumultuous history in mind, there are whispers the clues could be leading to the announcement of a Fleetwood Mac reunion.

The band last performed with both Nicks and Buckingham in 2018, when tensions came to a head and Buckingham was fired from the group.

“It was all Stevie’s doing,” Buckingham told People in 2021.

”Stevie basically gave the band an ultimatum that either I had to go or she would go. It would be like [Mick] Jagger saying, “Well, either Keith [Richards] has to go or I’m going to go’.”

However, in a statement obtained by People, Nicks claimed she “did not demand” Buckingham be fired.

”I proactively removed myself from the band and a situation I considered to be toxic to my well-being. I was done. If the band went on without me, so be it,” she said.

So, the last time fans were updated on the state of Nicks and Buckingham’s relationship, things weren’t looking good.

Upon news of Buckingham’s departure from the band, most had thought that would be the end, with very little to no hope of a reunion ever taking place.

But unless Nicks, Buckingham and Fleetwood’s posts – all shared within a 48-hour period – are some crazy coincidence, it seems safe to say the group has something in the works.
