West Wilson shared if he’s still in touch with Ciara Miller during an interview as the Summer House season eight reunion revealed that the two of them were no longer an item.
Following months of flirting during filming and dating thereafter, West, 29, said that when it comes to his relationship with Ciara, 28, today, despite never having any sort of “knockout, drag-out fight,” they have “minimal communication” with one another.
“People, they’re gonna hate me for it,” West admitted to Entertainment Tonight on June 6, ahead of the episode.
During the show, Ciara said she felt “got” by West, suggesting that he led her on, even taking her on a trip to his family home in Missouri to meet his parents, after which his dad shared pics from their time together.
“I had a heart attack when I saw that. I was like, what is this? Like, what is this guy doing? And I texted and I was like, ‘Please tell me you asked Ciara for permission!’ And he was like, ‘Yeah, no, we talked. I guess I should have asked you, too,’ but Ciara cleared it with him,” West explained of the Instagram photos.
“He’s kind of turned into this, like, rancher Instagram guy,” he continued. “When he has pictures that he’s proud of, I think he wants to show them off and, you know, he got clearance from Ciara, so he let ’em rip, and he was sitting on them for however many months that was.”
At the reunion, West revealed that after things fizzled with Ciara, his parents told him he was an “idiot” for not getting serious, which made Ciara tear up.
“I feel bad,” West told Andy Cohen, 56. “It’s not my intention to f**king hurt someone.”
According to Ciara, she gave him an “out” after filming, but he wanted to explore their romance.
“I think there were a lot of things — I mean, living in a house with someone is pretty black and white,” West reasoned. “You’re with the same people. You’re there on the weekends, you’re doing XYZ… I think there’s a lot of life to be had outside of the house, outside of summer, and I wanted to explore all of the other zillion aspects of life that we didn’t get to experience in the summer.”
Ciara also told her former flame that he “got everything you wanted out of me and I got, literally, the bare minimum,” and she wondered if he truly had feelings for her.
While West insisted he did, he said he had doubts about maintaining their relationship post-filming.
“It was never like, ‘These are reasons I would want to be alone…’ and s**t like that,” he said. “It was more just, I objectively have questions about how life works after you’re dating someone on the show.”
“I think I’ve always appreciated making decisions kind of on my own and not needing to worry about someone else’s feelings and compromising — and I know it’s a very selfish POV to have — but I’d also be lying if I didn’t address things like that,” he added.
After telling his castmates that he was afraid to lose his identity amid a romance with Ciara, Gabby Prescod, 33, accused him of using the claim as an excuse, and Ciara agreed.
Looking ahead to the potential ninth season of Summer House, West noted that his “minimal communication” with Ciara could change.
“I think that will be answered within the first day or two, if we do share a house again in the summer,” he suspected. “I don’t know a whole lot right now, which also might be the answer you’re looking for.”
For now, West said that distance is “probably for the best” for him and Ciara.
“There was never anything gross, nasty, evil,” he added. “I mean, it all felt pretty mutual and respectful the whole time, so I don’t think there’s any hatred.”
The second installment of the Summer House season eight reunion airs next Thursday, June 13, at 9/8c on Bravo.
