What we know about the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow movie
The Supergirl movie adaptation, written by Ana Nogueira, is set to follow the same storyline, where Ruthye, a noble warrior, sets out across the galaxy with Supergirl to avenge her father’s murder. In the pages of DC Comics, Ruthye’s father is killed by Krem of the Yellow Hill, a ruthless villain who becomes the target of Ruthye and Supergirl’s quest for justice. Rust and Bone actor Matthias Schoenaerts is set to play Krem in the upcoming DC Universe movie.
Joining Ridley and Schoenaerts is House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock, who landed the role of Supergirl following an extensive casting search. Alcock is set to appear in another DC project before her big-screen debut as Supergirl, giving fans an early glimpse of her take on the iconic hero.
James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe is set to kick off with the animated series Creature Commandos, launching before Superman: Legacy, which stars David Corenswet as Superman, and Peacemaker season 2, where John Cena reprises his role as the titular antihero. This lineup marks the beginning of Gunn and Safran’s vision for a revamped DC franchise.
