SUPERGIRL Puppy Bowl TV Spot and Poster Introduce Baby Krypto The Superdog — GeekTyrant

DC Studios decided to actually show up for the Puppy Bowl this year with an extended TV spot for Supergirl, and it finally gives fans something real to chew on.

The big reveal is Krypto the Superdog, introduced here as an irresistibly cute puppy. He also steals the spotlight on a newly released poster that feels engineered to melt hearts on contact.

The footage that was shared opens on Argo City, the last surviving fragment of Krypton, where Kara Zor-El is clearly not in the best place emotionally. That’s when she crosses paths with a stray puppy who quickly proves he’s anything but ordinary.

This tiny furball is Krypto, and the movie appears to be giving the Superdog his own origin story. That’s a notable shift from the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic, and longtime readers might find it amusing that the Puppy Bowl is where this particular reveal happens.

After Baby Krypto makes his adorable entrance, the rest of the spot largely reshuffles footage from the teaser released back in December. Still, the new context gives those scenes a little more personality, especially with Krypto now part of the picture.

The poster leans hard into that energy. Krypto is front and center, practically daring audiences not to fall in love with him. Considering how pop culture embraced Baby Groot and Grogu, it’s easy to see DC Studios pushing this super-powered pup as a major part of the movie’s marketing going forward.

Supergirl is the latest DCU feature heading to theaters from Warner Bros. Pictures and arrives next summer. The film stars Milly Alcock in the dual role of Supergirl and Kara Zor-El, with Craig Gillespie directing from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira.

The story follows Kara as she’s pulled into an interstellar mission fueled by vengeance and justice after a ruthless enemy hits far too close to home.

Alcock is joined by Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa.

With a Superdog puppy now officially in the mix, Supergirl just added a whole new layer of fun to its cosmic revenge story. The film lands in theaters on June 26, 2026, and if Baby Krypto is any indication, this DCU chapter isn’t afraid to embrace some epic cuteness alongside the chaos.
