Tamron Hall claimed she was fired as the Sister Wives reunion host in 2015 — but would she want to return now?
“I would absolutely consider hosting the reunion show,” Hall, 54, exclusively told Us Weekly on Monday, April 21. “It would be incredible to be back in the room with all of the wives and Kody [Brown].”
The journalist noted, “It would be the first time since 2015, [and] all of our lives have changed significantly.”
Hall previously hosted Sister Wives reunions and tell-all episodes for seasons 6 through 9, which aired from 2014 to 2015. “I, like millions of viewers, watched the family grow and change over time,” Hall said of that time during the April 16 episode of the Tamron Hall show.
After a decade away from the TLC franchise — which now stars Kody, 56, and his ex-wives, Meri Brown, Janelle Brown and Christine Brown, and remaining wife Robyn Brown — Hall claimed it wasn’t her choice to stop hosting the reunions.
“I will be honest with you. I was told not to come back,” she alleged during her talk show. “Because some people thought that the questions were too tough that I was asking.” (Us previously reached out to TLC for comment.)
Hall told Us on Monday that when she was first asked to host Sister Wives’ reunions, she did it because it was a paying gig. “I thought, ‘Let me take this extra job for extra income,’ but I quickly got to know the family, especially the children,” she recalled.
The former Today show host remembered that when she was at the helm, the law around polygamy went to the Supreme Court, which sweetened the pot.
“As a journalist, I became even more fascinated,” Hall shared. “But if I’m honest, it started out as what I thought was an easy gig and quickly turned into something far more interesting and compelling, and here they are all these years later.”
Since Hall was dismissed as the Sister Wives emcee, fans have seen a massive change in the Brown family. When the show began in 2010, Kody had just welcomed fourth wife, Robyn, into their brood.
The twosome had a spiritual marriage during season 1 but it wasn’t until he divorced Meri, 54, in 2014 that he and Robyn, 46, legally tied the knot. (The move was made so Kody could legally adopt Robyn’s three children from a prior marriage.)
Meri and Kody remained in a spiritual union for another decade before the plural family fell apart. Third wife Christine, 53, announced her split from Kody in November 2021. Second wife Janelle, 55, confirmed her separation from Kody the following winter. Meri, meanwhile, issued a joint statement with Kody in January 2023 about the end of their marriage.
Even with all the shifts on Sister Wives, Hall exclusively told Us there’s only one question she wishes she got the women to answer — which is even more topical now.
“I never asked them, ‘If they could have him without the other wives, would they?’” Hall said. She recalled speaking with the wives about the “benefits of being a sister wife and wife” but didn’t ask if they’d ever want to be monogamous with Kody.
Kody, meanwhile, asked Robyn during season 19 of Sister Wives whether she could accept him as a monogamous and despite wanting the polygamous lifestyle she agreed to stay by his side.
Sister Wives airs on TLC Sundays at 10 p.m. ET.
