Taylor Frankie Paul reportedly had “several conversations” about her ex Dakota Mortensen during filming of The Bachelorette.
Days after ABC made the decision to cancel Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette, which was set to begin airing on Sunday, we’re hearing about some of the conversations she had with suitors on the show… many of which involved her ex.
On Friday, a source told Us Weekly the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star frequently spoke about her relationship status with Dakota, which didn’t sit right with “many” of the contestants:
“There were several conversations had [about Taylor’s status with Dakota], and the writing was on the wall. Many feel like their time was wasted.”

The source continued:
“They gave up months away from work and their families for nothing. It’s upsetting to everyone.”
Oof.
Despite her breakup with Dakota earlier in 2025, the pair hooked up the night before she got on her flight to head to California for The Bachelorette in September, as was documented in season 4 of Mormon Wives.
Before Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette was cancelled amid footage surfacing of her attacking Dakota, she told Us Weekly she was “very open” about her history with him on the show:
“I really told everyone as a whole if there’s anything you want to know, please let me know. I wasn’t trying to shove everything down their throat of that in my life. I wanted to tell them what they wanted to know.”
She noted she was “adamant” for her suitors to be fully aware of her past:
“Like, ‘Please ask anything. I am [a] very open book. Especially the ones towards the end, I was open with the situation. So yeah, I was very honest, I feel like.”
In the wake of ABC pulling the plug on the season, some suitors have begun speaking out. Doug Mason supportively said on his Instagram Story on Friday:
“In light of everything that has happened, I am just sending prayers to Taylor because that was her moment and her moment was blocked. All we can do right now is just be hopeful, and I am headed off to run to watch the sunrise. I hope you guys have a great day, and let’s stay positive and show nothing but support for people in need.”
Clayton Johnson, for his part, raved about working with “the best group of men.”
“I can honestly say this was one of the best groups of men I’ve ever been around. So much integrity, respect and heart across the board. Even the tough moments never took away from that. Any woman would be lucky to be with any of these guys. Real integrity. Real respect. Real men. Love you boys.”
