Geralt of Rivia is returning to the comics page later this year. Dark Horse Comics will release The Witcher: Wild Animals, a new four-issue miniseries set in the world of the popular CD Projekt Red video game series, beginning in September. The series is written by Bartosz Sztybor, with art by Ukrainian artist and U.S. comics newcomer Nataliia Rerekina, colors by Patricio Delpeche, and letters by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou.
Here’s how Dark Horse describes The Witcher: Wild Animals:
Fan-favorite witcher Geralt is no stranger to jobs gone wrong, but washing ashore on a strange new land forces him into a conflict between the hunters who took him in and a mysterious clan known to kill humans. Where man and creatures coexist, there is an unspoken rule—one where the skills of a witcher go beyond killing monsters.
Along with a main cover by Rerekina, the first issue of the new series will also sport variant covers by Manuele Fio, Sara Kipin, and Matt Smith.
The Witcher: Wild Animals is the latest Witcher series from Dark Horse in collaboration with CD Projekt Red, and the latest written by Bartosz Sztybor. The writer has penned the three most recent previous Witcher series from Dark Horse, including Fading Memories, Witch’s Lament, and The Ballad of Two Wolves. Artist Nataliia Rerekina’s previous work includes the Ukrainian series Moonchosen and the English language series Lady of Radiance, both with writer Gilbert Brissen. The latter series is currently being serialized via Rerekina and Brissen’s Patreon.
