FX has dropped the trailer for the fifth and final season of The Bear, and it looks like the beloved kitchen crew is about to face their biggest challenge yet.
If fans thought the pressure was intense before, the new footage suggests things are about to get even more complicated as the team battles financial trouble, unexpected disasters, and the uncertain future of the restaurant they’ve poured everything into building.
The trailer puts Ayo Edebiri‘s Sydney front and center as she steps into a leadership role, taking charge of the kitchen as head chef. With Carmy no longer running the day-to-day operation, Sydney finds herself carrying the weight of keeping The Bear moving forward while the rest of the staff scrambles to keep the business alive.
And they’re dealing with a lot more than difficult dinner service. The new season sees the restaurant hit from every angle. A flood threatens operations, deliveries are cut off, money is running short, and the building itself is being sold. The team is essentially fighting to keep the doors open while navigating one crisis after another.
Season 4 ended with Jeremy Allen White‘s Carmy making the difficult decision to walk away from the restaurant business. After heartfelt conversations with Sydney, Richie, and Natalie, he stepped aside and left the future of The Bear in their hands.
But Carmy isn’t gone for good. The trailer reveals that he’ll be returning this season, reconnecting with the people who helped build the restaurant. At one emotional moment, Carmy tells the team: “I look at you all, and I love you so much.”
Alongside White and Edebiri, the series stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Matty Matheson. Returning cast members include Oliver Platt, Jon Bernthal, Ricky Staffieri, and Molly Gordon.
One of the show’s trademarks has been its impressive lineup of guest stars, and over the past four seasons audiences have seen appearances from names such as Brie Larson, the late Rob Reiner, Jamie Lee Curtis, Joel McHale, John Mulaney, Bob Odenkirk, Will Poulter, Olivia Colman, Sarah Paulson, Molly Ringwald, John Cena, and Josh Hartnett.
Series creator Christopher Storer returns as executive producer and he also serves as the season’s primary director, with Hiro Murai once again directing select episodes.
After four seasons of kitchen meltdowns, emotional breakthroughs, and extremely stressful situations, The Bear is preparing to close its doors for one last run. Based on this trailer, the final chapter is shaping up to be an intense, emotional ride that will test every member of the team before service finally ends.
All eight episodes of The Bear Season 5 premiere June 25 on Hulu and FX.
