It’s hard to put into words just how much love that people have for The Legend of Zelda. There are so many classic games in the series that it’s hard to even keep track at points, and any given announcement, re-release, or remake will be shared to high heaven when Nintendo drops it.
That said, there are a lot of platforms that Zelda hasn’t hit, because it’s naturally relegated to Nintendo platforms in an official capacity. Over on X, fans are loving the latest Legend of Zelda drop, which is on a pretty wild platform.
The Legend Of Zelda Just Hit PlayStation
Thanks to the efforts of the Vita community, a Vita version of Majora’s Mask is now available. Originally released in 2000 for the Nintendo 64 (and again on the 3DS in 2015 as a remake), Majora’s Mask is celebrated as one of the most distinctive Zelda games of all time, if not the most original of them all. Taking place in Termina, you’ll scour the game world in an attempt to stop a world-ending Moon, and travel through a bunch of varied locales, taking on some creepy enemies.
Its originality and horror-like elements live on to this day, and it has become one of the most memorable adventures Link has ever embarked upon. With all the talk of the Ocarina of Time remake potentially coming to Switch 2, fans are eagerly awaiting more info for a potential Majora’s Mask Switch 2 remake.
With all that in mind, Nintendo still hasn’t officially announced Ocarina of Time for modern platforms, but we’re all hoping for a reveal this summer. In the meantime, you can enjoy the older versions of the games on the original hardware, 3DS, Virtual Console on Switch, and now, Vita.
As one fan notes, they’re interested, but need to dig out their Vita: “I still gotta replace my vita battery im just too complacent to take it apart myself Like 4-5 years ago I left it plugged into the charger for like 8 months straight because i was too lazy to unplug it.”
It’s A Great System
I have a Vita ready to go at all times, along with the original docking station. It’s a fantastic system, and that OLED screen still holds up even in the modern era of gaming. There are also some original games still stuck on there, so it’s fun to keep breaking them out.
It makes sense that fans would flock to a Vita version of The Legend of Zelda, as it can play old games wonderfully and really make them pop on a high-quality screen.
