There is one piece of advice Gwyneth Paltrow really hopes her children take to heart.
The Goop founder and actress, 52, is mum to her 20-year-old daughter, Apple Martin, and her 19-year-old son, Moses Martin, whom she shares with her ex-husband Chris Martin.
She is also step mum to husband Brad Falchuks two children – Brody and Isabella.

Speaking with People in a recent interview in New York City, Paltrow gave a rare insight into her parenting style and her desire to allow her kids to be whoever they want to be.
“I think I really encourage them to be true to themselves and, like, to do what feels right to them,” she told the publication.
“I think all the mistakes I made were being talked in or out of something,” she continued, implying that she hopes her kids don’t do the same.

“I really want them, even if I don’t agree with it… I want them to be really true to their idea of their purpose and their individuality.
“She [Apple] still has another year of college, so I’m like right, soak it in, and you know, it goes really fast.”
She also told the publication that despite her family’s busy schedule, she has been able to soak up plenty of quality time with her kids.

“I’ve actually been able to see them more. My son’s on, they’re both on the East Coast – well, he’s on the East Coast and she’s southeast,” Paltrow said of Apple and Moses.
“And I did a film here in the fall and it was great ’cause I got to see my son and stepson, who were just very close by quite a lot, which was really nice.”
Paltrow’s rare comments about her family come just weeks after she shut down rumours of a feud with Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.
Just weeks after the pair appeared in an Instagram video to shut down speculation of bad blood, the actress, 52, has once again lashed the claims on The World’s First Podcast With Erin & Sara Foster.
“You know what I won’t be at this point in my life?” she began in an episode of The World’s First Podcast With Erin & Sara Foster.

“I won’t be a pawn in some drummed-up, triangulation of women feud for your f–king clickbait.”
“Leave us out of it,” she Goop founder continued. “Don’t do that. I will not stand for that.”
Paltrow went on the praise Meghan for the recent launches of her lifestyle brand, Netflix series and podcast.
“It’s so great what she’s doing,” added Paltrow. “Every woman deserves to go into anything they want to do.”
