Ghosts might be scary, terrifying even, but they’re, for the most part, simple. Uncomplicated. Unlike flesh and blood human beings with their messy emotions and complex relationships. Add in writer Lilah Sturges and artist El Garing‘s The Science of Ghosts, the protagonist Joy Ravenna has her work cut out for her.
Published by Legendary Comics and distributed by Simon & Schuster, The Science of Ghosts has launched an exclusive trailer in anticipation of its release on June 18. The trailer promises the story will have a murder mystery, a vengeful ghost, and a paranormal investigator who will do her best to solve the case.
The trailer can be watched below:
While navigating the mysteries of the afterlife, Joy Ravenna – a transgender parapsychologist, must also deal with the very real challenges of her past and present. Her first post-transition relationship, a hostile ex-wife, and clues to murder long forgotten will test her at every twist and turn. For Joy, working with ghosts is way easier than dealing with the living.
The creative duo behind The Science of Ghosts is a winning pair. Sturges won the PRISM Award for Lumberjanes: The Infernal Compass and The Magicians. Garing’s graphic novel Bram Stoker’s Dracula Starring Bela Lugosi won a Rondo Award in 2022.
Containing 160 pages, The Science of Ghosts hits bookshelves on June 18.
