Back in May 2023, the Smashing Pumpkins shared the third and final part of their last album, Atum: A Rock Opera in Three Acts. Today, the alt-rock veterans announced that its follow-up, Aghori Mhori Mei, is on the way.
The band unveiled the surprise album just two weeks before its Aug. 2 release date. No single has been shared yet, but you can check out the cover art and tracklist below.

“In the writing of this new album I became intrigued with the well-worn axiom, ‘You can’t go home again,’” Corgan says. “Which I have found personally to be true in form but thought, ‘Well, what if we tried anyway?’ Not so much in looking backward with sentimentality but rather as a means to move forward; to see if in the balance of success and failure that our ways of making music circa 1990-1996 would still inspire something revelatory.”
The Pumpkins have a busy rest of the year ahead of them, including the direct-support slot of Green Day’s ongoing stadium tour, as well as a slew of solo arena shows in the U.S. and Canada. See all the dates here.
