New York City’s iconic Times Square became a powerful stage for women’s voices on March 8 as the nonprofit organization We Do It Together unveiled its annual global “I AM” Campaign on the towering screens of the Nasdaq Tower. Timed to coincide with International Women’s Day, the striking visual installation transformed one of the world’s most recognizable public spaces into a celebration of women’s identity, empowerment, and cultural influence.
The 2026 campaign features a dynamic lineup of artists, creatives, and advocates whose portraits and personal declarations illuminated Times Square throughout the day. Among those featured are acclaimed performers Helen Mirren, Sharon Stone, and Marisa Tomei, along with Grammy Award–winning songwriter Diane Warren, filmmaker Catherine Hardwicke, actress Leonor Varela, and advocate Kim Carter. In total, 30 notable women participated in the campaign, each contributing a powerful portrait paired with a personal statement beginning with the words “I AM.”

The initiative was conceived by Chiara Tilesi, founder and president of We Do It Together. Her vision for the project is to challenge how women are portrayed in media and culture by shifting the narrative from objectification to self-definition. Each portrait in the campaign invites viewers to reconsider the role of women in storytelling and public life, turning individual declarations into a collective message about autonomy, representation, and empowerment.

The campaign arrives at a time when conversations around gender equality remain urgent. By placing women’s voices and identities in one of the most visible advertising spaces in the world, the installation symbolically reclaims public space for women’s perspectives and stories.

For We Do It Together, the Times Square activation marks a significant milestone. Previous editions of the “I AM” Campaign have transformed major European landmarks into open-air exhibitions, with projections across historic sites in Italy such as the Trevi Fountain and Piazza di Spagna. The 2026 presentation represents the campaign’s debut in New York City—and its most visible installation to date.

Founded to finance and produce films and media centered on women’s empowerment, We Do It Together has built a reputation for using storytelling to challenge outdated narratives and advance gender equality. Among its most recognized projects is the film Tell It Like a Woman, which earned an Academy Award nomination for Tilesi and featured a global ensemble of artists including Jennifer Hudson, Eva Longoria, Cara Delevingne, and Marcia Gay Harden.
With the glow of the Nasdaq Tower serving as its backdrop, this year’s “I AM” Campaign sends a clear message: when women define themselves, their voices resonate far beyond the screen.
